NeoFilipino 2019: Ar[res]t was presented to the media, press and selected bloggers last Oct 2, 2019, Hotel Jen Pasay City.
The CCP Choreographers Series is under the dance masters Denisa Reyes and Myra Beltran with Nes Jardin. They inspire and guide choreographers to become the prime movers of contemporary dance expression and contribute to the richness of the Philippine dance heritage.

This annual Choreographer Series is a platform of three dance programs arranged in three levels of choreographic achievement and catering to the needs of choreographers for their artistic growth. The series starts with (1) WifiBody.ph, a competition for emerging choreographers; (2) Koryolab, a laboratory and showcase of experimental dance pieces by mid-career choreographers; and (3) NeoFilipino, a venue for established choreographers to create and stage major works in collaboration with artists of other art forms
CCP President and Artistic Director, Chris B. Millado defines NeoFilipino/Contemporary Dance by ‘telling you what it is not, definitely contemporary dance in not Ballet, like “Swan Lake” of Philippine Ballet or “Giselle” of Ballet Manila. The Ballet has plenty of code but in contemporary dance, it is out of these languages or vocabulary to look anew in ways of expressions. He also said that Contemporary dance is not a ballroom, hip-hop dance. It is out of the Box in the sense that it explores different vocabulary and dance forms. NeoFilipino tries to shape a new language unfolding. NeoFilipino is not just a dance, the amazing things with contemporary are the way it focuses itself with a lot of collaboration to other disciplines like in visual art, electronic music, multimedia arts.
